This eye-catching VW Type 2, in rare pickup form, is finished in Nardo Grey and sits on Porsche Classic Fuchs alloy wheels. It's equipped with many performance enhancements, including a recently-fitted 2.3-litre high-performance crate engine from VW Speed Shop, with Weber throttle bodies and various Porsche upgrades, coupled to a Pro-Street gearbox. Other upgrades include electric power steering, high-torque starter motor, Fosseyway performance brakes and a recent petrol tank. The MoT is valid to 27th March 2026, and the odometer displays 72,953.
The interior features an under-seat propex heater, front and rear cameras, heated front screen and sports steering wheel. Lighting has also been upgraded with a Sentinel front driving lamp, DRL/amber front indicators, DRLs in the front bumper, light-up VW logo and underbody lighting. The rear body has been finished with a slatted wooden floor and a unique hooped canvas cover, and a slide-out cargo tray is hidden inside the treasure chest door.
Paperwork includes an extensive collection of receipts detailing the £30k which has been spent in the last few years. Also present is a Volkswagen heritage certificate which tell us the vehicle was manufactured in 1977 and delivered to Greece. It was first registered in the UK in 2019, and the V5C indicates 2 keepers since then. A valuation certificate from 2022 values the vehicle at £30k, which was before £16k was spent on the new engine and gearbox. Spare keys are also present.
In the vendor's words: “This is a unique and fascinating VW, previously used as a company promotional vehicle, although it would suit any VW fanatic looking for something extra special or out of the ordinary.”
